Shop floor time tracking
Problem
On the shop floor, time has to be tracked against the work being done, whether that is a work order, a work center, or time that isn't tied to production, like meetings and training. Some shop floors still track this entirely on paper, which has to be collected and keyed into the ERP by hand later, a slow process open to human error. Employees forget to clock out, supervisors can't easily see who is scheduled or on the clock, and time worked across several work orders has to be split by hand before it reaches the ERP.
Solution
Employees clock in and out from a mobile application on their phone, moving the whole process off paper and eliminating manual keying. They choose what they are clocking into, a work order, a work center, or unreported time such as meetings and training. A supervisor dashboard updates in real time and shows who is scheduled today and who is clocked in. Records automatically flag anyone who has been clocked in for more than 24 hours, so forgotten clock-outs surface right away. Time waiting for review is grouped by work order, work center, and unreported time. Supervisors can review each employee's entries, edit records directly from the dashboard, and sign off before the hours are sent to the ERP. Time logged against a work center can be split across work orders, and productivity reports show time by work center, work order, and shift.
